काठमाडौं । भारतीय पूर्वसेना प्रमुखसमेत रहेका चिफ अफ डिफेन्स स्टाफ जनरल विपिन रावतको निधन भएको छ । बुधबार भारतको तमिलनाडुको कुन्नुर जंगलमा भएको सेनाको एमआई–१७ हेलिकोप्टर दुर्घटनामा गम्भीर घाइते भएका उनको अस्पतालमा उपचारको क्रममा मृत्यु भएको हो ।
भारतका रक्षामन्त्री राजनाथ सिंहले विलिंटनस्थित सेनाको हस्पिटलमा उपचारको क्रममा निधन भएको ट्विटमार्फत् जानकारी दिएका हुन् । मन्त्री सिंहले पूर्वसेना प्रमुख रावतको असामयिक निधनले स्तब्ध तुल्याएको र आर्मी फोर्सले एक योद्धा गुमाएको पनि उनले भनेका छन् ।
रावतसहित उनको पत्नि मधुलिका र थप ११ जनाको निधन भएको रक्षामन्त्री सिंहले बताएका छन् ।
